Our mission is to support and enhance the social capital, food security, and health of the local community through organic gardening and positive social interaction.
The Dale Street Community Garden is located in the Hume Springs neighborhood of northern Alexandria, nestled between the Arlandria-Chirilagua, Lynhaven and Warwick Village neighborhoods.
WE HAVE:
43 raised beds for rent (3 sizes)
2 large communal garden beds for seasonal produce
2 large garden beds for flowering perennials and pollinators
Membership priority is given to neighborhood residents within a 0.5 mile radius of the garden. Interested parties may submit an application at any time to be assigned a garden plot or to the waitlist.

Garden membership requires a volunteer commitment from each member. Members who do not complete the volunteer requirement pay a fee equal to $10/hr of uncompleted volunteer service. This fee is collected up-front as part of the plot fee. Members who successfully complete their volunteer hours will receive a credit of this amount toward their renewal, or a refund if they do not renew.
