Volunteers Welcome
Many Hands Make the Work Light
It is a privilege to be stewards of this garden and city ‘pocket park.’ We need your help to keep this garden and the communal grounds surrounding it beautiful and well maintained.
We welcome all in the community (not just garden members) to join us on volunteer dig days, pollinator garden expansion projects, and to help out in the Victory Garden where we exclusively grow veggies and fruits to donate to the local food bank. This is an excellent way to complete any mandatory volunteer hours while enjoying fresh air and learning how to grow food in your own backyard.
Whether you are a curious neighbor who wants to see what this garden is all about, a Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop working towards earning badges, or a company who wants a team building experience, we set up guided tasks in the garden following social distancing guidelines established by the CDC and mandated by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are so thankful for our past volunteers who were made up of corporate teams, a class of elementary school kids on a field trip, and AmeriCorps volunteers.
